Target Audiences

One of the most important components of a retail store is their target audience, and every store has a certain one. For example, stores such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister Co., and American Eagle Outfitters have a target audience of early teens to mid twenties. Stores such as Eddie Bauer and Ann Taylor have a target audience of middle age women, and also men in Eddie Bauer's case.

When I took the VALS survey, my results told me that I am a Experiencer/Striver. An experiencer first which dominates my approach to life, and a striver second which represents a particular emphasis I give to my dominant side. I do agree with the results because I am always looking for a new experience and I strive for achievement.

Abercrombie & Fitch was established on June 4th, 1892 by David T. Abercrombie as Abercrombie Co. Abercrombie was later joined by Ezra Fitch in 1900 and the company officially became Abercrombie & Fitch Co. It was originally an outfitter of sporting and excursion goods and is now one of the most popular clothing stores among my generation. There are 353 Abercrombie & Fitch stores across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Today it is run by Michael S. Jeffries, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, who has held this position since the 1990s. Abercrombie & Fitch's official logo is the gray moose and their trademark to promote the brand is Casual Luxury. They are the first company to call their employees "models" instead of "brand reps," which gives them the right to hire based on looks.

My Favorite Retailer

My favorite retailer is Abercrombie & Fitch.

5 reasons why it's my favorite:
1) it's an easy store to shop at, everything is made to match everything so I don't have to think much about what I want to wear.
2) I work there so I get a discount.
3) they sell everything I like, jeans, hoodies, t shirts, wovens, shorts, etc.
4) everything I buy there goes with flip flops, which is my favorite type of shoe.
5) it fits me very well.
